Emilie Geist

Emilie is the project manager for the projects Youth Who Change the World and No hate against Sámi people.

She has experience working with young people and youth participation from UngOrg (the umbrella organisation for children and youth organisations in Oslo), and is passionate about meaningful participation where young people themselves take the lead.

Emilie holds a bachelor’s degree in information science and cultural mediation, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in library and information science. She has a particular interest in the role of libraries as democratic spaces, and is writing her master’s thesis on youth participation in libraries.

Emilie is an avid reader who sees books as a unique gateway to important conversations. In her spare time, she is part of a book club and runs the organisation Ordskjelv, which develops creative literary projects for children and young people.
