Agnes Tolescu

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Advisor

Agnes Tolescu is a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Advisor with an extensive experience supporting education and social impact initiatives through evidence, research, and learning.

Growing up in a small Romanian town during the country's transition from communism to democracy profoundly shaped her worldview. Born in the year of the Revolution, she benefited from freedoms and opportunities that previous generations could only dream of, while also witnessing the inequalities and social challenges that accompanied this period of change. These experiences sparked her enduring interest in education, equity, and active citizenship.

Over the last eight years of her career, Agnes has focused on building systems that help organisations understand and strengthen their impact in the field of education. Combining grassroots experience with global support for practitioners, she has worked across diverse contexts to promote the use of evidence and learning to drive improvement and meaningful change.

Agnes is particularly interested in learning what role education and cross border cooperation can play in building more inclusive, resilient, and equitable societies, and in particular what is the value that data, evidence, and learning can bring to this work.
